Our Impact in 2023!

Updated: Mar 6, 2024

Thanks to our supporters, in 2023…

Our sister organization, RakshaMAD in Prayagraj, India, was able to rescue a few goats including the ever-hungry Raju and sweet little troublemaker, Raka. Here’s a glimpse into the lives of these playful goats - enjoy:

Next, we have gentle Sheetal, rescued by RakshaMAD from a nearby city after a terrible accident left her with deep injuries and near-endless bleeding. With your support, she’s been given the care she needed to recover, and is now thriving.

A young calf, Shaurya, also met with an accident and was rescued about 60 kms away from the RakshaMAD sanctuary. Your funds contributed towards treatment to repair his painful broken jaw and forelimb, and he’s now doing better than ever.

All healed, Shaurya & Sheetal grabbing a meal:

We’ve also purchased stands for downer cows who are unable to stand upright after continuous exploitation in the dairy industry. We love how the stands provide these cows a second lease at life.

Our other sister organization, Almighty Animal Sanctuary in Chennai, India, has also done a phenomenal job in rescuing and rehabilitating animals.

Kavya was rescued in February after she was run over by a vehicle, causing her hind leg to be splattered, and eventually amputated. She’s recovering well and will be fitted with prosthetics in hopes of walking again.

Raja, a young calf, suffered broken front and back legs due to a vehicle collision and was at risk of slaughter as well. However, Vignesh from Almighty Care rescued Raja, providing him with the necessary medical care. We’re thrilled to learn that despite all odds, Raja is able to walk now.

Seetha was rescued from Thiruvarur after suffering an accident which resulted in a lumbar spine fracture, making it impossible for her to walk again. She was given supportive therapy to alleviate pain and extend her life - all thanks to your funds.

Two abandoned male calves, whom we've named Anish and Murali, have also been rescued by Vignesh from Almighty Care and are currently under treatment for a hip fracture and a joint ill respectively – we're hopeful they have a shot at a normal life.

We've also sponsored the rescue and rehabilitation of an injured and malnourished horse, Rajjo. We're proud of how beautifully she's healing.

We’ve also been able to support emergency requirements for funds. Your contributions helped give Nandini, a sick cow, some palliative care before she sadly passed away. In a similar vein, we've managed to support medical care for 10+ animals ranging from goats to cows, and even dogs.

Through our in-house product lines, Avirose and Vedanta, we sold dozens of table runners, cushion covers, stoles, shawls, and home decor items, generating close to $1000 (Indian Rupees 80,000) in revenues in 2023. This helped underprivileged women who have been employed by Avirose and Vedanta sustain themselves and their families. Great news – we're planning to launch our online marketplace in 2024 and look forward to your support.

Our ACW team also advocated at multiple events this year including Bay Area-based Youth Leadership Climate Summit and Rotary Club Fall Festival, facilitating meaningful conversations about the benefits of adopting a sustainable, plant-based lifestyle. We shared delicious plant-based goodies with visitors to our tables, also distributing informative booklets (kindly donated by Vegan Outreach) – all of which garnered quite a lot of interest and inspiration.

Finally, we express gratitude for your gracious contributions to help uplift the lives of our beloved animals. As a reminder, you can donate to us not only via our website but also via our corporate-matching program on Benevity.

With the impact we've been making, we'd love your continued support for the upcoming year! Please donate below to contribute towards our animal rescues and the underprivileged this holiday season 🎄 – let’s make this a more compassionate world for all:
